FD Connections

Fire Department Connection will provide firefighters the opportunity to record, share, and preserve the stories and experiences of their lives. We will learn about the past and create a record of our history for the future.

Oral history interviews can also preserve more events, such as incidents, after action reviews, close calls and other special events, as they are happening. These moments don’t have to be forgotten. We will make the effort to capture our memories to ensure that there will be a permanent record of our stories for future generations of firefighters.

BACK IN THE DAY

HANGING IT UP!

Hopefully, each and every firefighter will “hang up” their turnouts at the end of a long and satisfying career. At the Los Angeles County Fire Department, our retirees come to the old training grounds known affectionately as “The Grinder” and turn in their personal protective equipment for the last time. Check out this video as we catch up with a couple of recent retirees and thank them for their years of service and dedication.
